Headshot of Ben

Benjamin Newton, BSc (Hons), PhD

Hi, I’m Ben and I work with Faith as her Operations Director!

I am a Chartered Psychologist and Life Coach.

Professional Experience

Faith qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2012. Since then she has worked with hundreds of families. Faith worked for four years in the NHS with autistic, ADHD and dyspraxic children, before setting up an independent practice providing school based therapy in 2018. In 2024 Faith set up Neurodivergent Kids OT in response to the gap she saw for accessible, affordable and PDA friendly neuro-affirmative occupational therapy.

Ben studied Human Psychology for his undergraduate degree. In 2015 he was awarded his PhD which explored the experiences of chronic pain not being believed. Ben is a Chartered Psychologist which is a recognition of his experience in psychology by the British Psychological Society. Ben has worked as a researcher and evaluator within the NHS.

Personal Experience

In 2020 our son was diagnosed autistic and since then we have also realised that he has PDA (pathological demand avoidance). We are currently waiting for our daughter’s autism assessment.

After our son stopped going to school we met many families in a similar position to ours. Parents looking for support from health, education and social services and struggling to find it. (Read more of our family story here).

In September 2025, Ben started working with Faith as the Operations Director. As well as experience parenting two neurodivergent children, Ben has faced his own challenges of living with undiagnosed autism most of his life.
